- Finishing one good book and starting another
- Rain outside; the cats and me inside, warm and dry
- Four cats, one featherbird — patpat Leap! pounce grab chewbite
- The scrub jays, who watch for me to fill the feeder, then swoop in moments later for peanuts and sunflower seed
- Fuji apples; Comice pears; scrambled eggs with little sausages; eggnog
- Welcoming my sweetie home after a several-day trip out of town
- Enjoying a great video (Pirates of the Caribbean) with Rich
- Neighborhood fireworks for New Year's Eve
- After nearly a week of alternating grey, rain, and gloomph, a crystal clear day
