Treasures are positive things that strike my fancy, things that make me feel happy or thankful or interested, things that are worth remembering. Treasures are memories encapsulated in just a few words.
I gather my treasures throughout the week. I hope you'll consider starting your own list of Treasures — here, or in your personal weblog or journal.
My treasures for the past week include
- A job interview, at which I learned (and confirmed) a few more things about myself, my skills (which matched) and my interests (which didn't). It was a useful experience that, while it won't get me a job, might bring me some occasional contract work.
- Clean teeth, no problems, and a relatively painless dental (cleaning) appointment.
- The really cool monitor and miniature video hookup the dentist has, with bright white LEDs on a handheld "wand", that allow both dentist and patient to get a really "up close and personal" look at the patient's teeth!
- Wind on the eucaplyptus trees
- Two cockatiels at PetClub. The woman who entered the store before me brought them in with her. Sweet little birds; the more colorful of the two sat on her shoulder and nibbled her earring. She talked to them as she browsed.
- A cream-colored parrot, not big or brightly colored but alert and handsome nonetheless. It may have been a cockatoo ( it looked a lot like a Goffin ). He was a woman in the drugstore! I went to the drugstore two stops after PetClub. Two people, two stores, three pet birds.
- Sitting on the screenporch in the Spring twilight, still light at 6:45 pm, watching the kitties enjoy the evening and sniffing the breeze. All four kitties were on the porch with me, watching out the open windows.
- Daylight Shifting Time!
