The early part of the week was still rainy. I think we may have gotten safely out of fire season for this year.
This was my first week to work at home in the afternoons. My HR representative came through and approval was granted. I can work at home every afternoon. Yeay!
Tuesday we had a Junior Achievement presentation at noon. I've decided to play. I'll do 2nd grade.
Dinner at an Italian restaurant we discovered in the City a few months back. We shared two delightful salads (I learned that I like figs!) and a wonderful veal chop.
Wednesday night after dinner we went to the store and bought a new bird feeder. Between the weather, the years, the squirrels, and the racoons, our old one was coming apart. The wood was torn up and the plexiglass sides were coming out.
We'll install the new one this weekend.
Saturday we tried something new for breakfast – a linguisa scramble. Quite yummy. It has cheese, linguisa, onions, and tomatoes. Rich asked them to add mushrooms (which I picked out and gave to him) and spinach. Quite good.
Dinner was at the local Salvadorean restaurant. Pupusas and nachos with chicken and guacamole. Yumm. I also had the
horchata, an interesting iced drink made with rice, almonds, sugar, and cinnamon. It's quite different and very yummy.
Sunday we installed the newbird feeder (it wasn't raining ;-). Rich enlarged the space where the seed comes out at the bottom (it wasn't a big enough gap for sunflower seeds, originally).
I read Death by Darjeeling, by Laura Childs and started Exhile's Honor, by Mercedes Lackey. The latter is another book I will read slowly, savoring it. I like Mercedes Lackey and I enjoy my visits to Valdemar.
In between and around the rest, I've had some good naps, good meals, and interesting conversations with Spouse and friends. I've had quite a few chats with my dad and plenty of snuggles with the cats.
