On this overcast but pleasant November day, I'm thankful for
- Richard my best human friend now for over 21 years. He makes me laugh.
- Bebop majordomo and cat-in-charge, from his pink nose to his white tail tip held high
- Squirrel my marshmallow fluffy and snuggle buddy
- Mezzaluna her royal blueness, princess and loony coony wrapped in fluff
- Raven the little black floppycat with thumbs who flew from Houston to San Francisco just to live with us

- Our neighborhood
- Our region
- Raccoons in the back yard and on the sunroom roof
- Skunks and possums (although not often in our yard)
- Rabbits, deer, ravens, , and the occasional snake or lizard
- Blue jays, juncos, and chickadees, sparrows and finches and all the birds at the feeder
- Squirrels
- Computers and Unix and the wonderful life they have allowed me to have
- The World Wide Web, HTML, Google, CGI, and all the rest
- Weblogs and Movable Type
- Apple Computer, Mac OS X, iPods
- Palm Computing, PDAs, and handwriting recognition software
- "Chat" software and the ability to chat with my Dad regularly
- Email spam notwithstanding, email is the best mode of communication I know
Email allows me to keep in touch with so many people and to meet so many others all over the world
- Kensington trackballs without them, I'd be in a world of hurt
- My first Palm III, my Handspring Visors and now, my Kyocera "smart phone"
- CDs, DVDs, Digital cameras
- High-resolution CRT and LCD monitors
- Cell phones (if not, perhaps, the way many people use them)
- Velcro, Post-it notes, roller ball gel ink pens
- A Job I rather like, with a very short commute
- Intelligent Co-workers I like
- Approval to work at home in the afternoons
- A Job for Rich
- Our Scion xB which we discussed and discussed but once decided, never had one minute of "buyer's remorse" over
- Books
- Talented authors to write those books 😉
- Shared time spent relaxing in the living room, Rich and I reading, cats flopped around us
- Music
- Carrot cake, pumpkin ice cream, cranberry margaritas
- Krispy Kreme pumpkin spice cake donuts (their only flavor I can stand 🙂
- Fresh cinnamon bread, lightly toasted with just a bit of butter
- sugar-free Reeses peanut butter cups & York peppermint patties (but
don't eat more than three) - Good food, good restaurants, and good friends to eat with
- Blue-sky days
- Full-moon nights
- Rain patterng on the screenporch roof
- Naps, especially naps with cats
- The Hot tub
- All the things I didn't mention, but would have, had I thought of them at this time
