"Life … is haphazard and full of beauties which I try to catch as
they fly by, for who knows whether any of them will ever return?"
— Margot Fonteyn
Treasures are positive things that strike my fancy, that make me feel happy or thankful or interested. Treasures are memories encapsulated in just a few words. These are my Treasures for the second week of 2005.
- waking in the night to Squirrel kneading my feet
- a hummingbird in the bushes along the trail as I walked up the hill from the bus stop (if I had to take the bus home, today was a pretty day to do it)
- Freeway birdwatching. Two redtailed hawks and an egret on the way south; two more hawks on the way north.
- Squirrel snuggled on the pillow near my head, murmuring kitty murmurs and dreaming kitty dreams.
- Attending two interesting talks – one on the science of food and one on weblogging in "institutions"
- Email letters from my Mom
- Raven snuggled next to me on the couch as I read
- Finishing a most excellent book; I'll miss the people. I hope there will be more.
- Looking forward to a three-day weekend!
