The weather was certainly interesting this week! It started raining in the latter part of Monday afternoon, rained all day Tuesday then cleared up until Sunday evening. Sunday night it POURED. The kitties were not happy about that. Much sound of rushing water on rooftops (especially the Lexan screenporch roof). Big kitty eyes. Both Bebop and Raven attempted (unsuccessfully) to look nonchalant.
CircusPonies released NoteBook 2.0 (version 2 of an application I like very much indeed). The look is slightly different. They added several things I've asked for.
I've been discovering the joys of shared iCalendars. I now have three – US holidays, Sabbats & Moon phases, and "fortune cookies" (refresh daily).
Unfortunately, DayChaser (a calendar app I like better than Apple's iCal) doesn't handle the iCalendar standard yet, but I'm told it will in release 2.0.
We overran the disk space on our primary drive again this week. We've changed our backup program so it won't use that drive to write backup files anymore. That should buy us some breathing room. Eventually we expect to upgrade to FreeSD 5 but there are other priorities before then like… taxes.
We caught A Prairie Home Companion on the radio on Sunday. Garrison Keillor's monologue was fun this week, all about growing up playing the bassoon, carrying it in the HS band, trying to get into an orchestra….
And that's how I became a stagehand. A little known career in the arts that's actually as much fun as being an artist…
He was backed with sound effects and orchestra effects from the Minnesota Orchestra. He gave the woodwinds the trumpet part in the William Tell Overture. Braa Braa!
This week I read Babe Magnet, by Robin Wells. I enjoy well-written contemporary romances with interesting characters. This was a pretty good one (although I did occasionally find myself saying to the characters "What is the matter with you, dummy?!" 🙂
In between and around the rest, I've had almost enough naps and plenty of snuggles with the cats. Raven never wants to let me go off to the Job in the mornings. There have been good meals and interesting conversations with Spouse and friends. I've had a few chats with my Dad and exchanged email with my Mom.
Onward and Upward.
