The weather has varied. It's autumn.
On two mornings in a row, I woke up when the sun came in the window at 6:30 am (I wake best to light). On the third morning, the clouds rolled in and I woke to my alarm clock.
After much fuss and bother and stress and frustration we installed a new monitor arm on my desk. I was concerned about a major change to my office configuration and this was giving me stress. Rich had a sore neck and shoulder and didn't need my stress to add to his stress.
The end result works… although at first it was very odd to have the screen "floating" in the air. But I can fit the scanner under it (which was what I wanted in the first place).
(if you want one, shop around. paid roughly half SRP at Staples.)
My Job this week was… best forgotten. I seem to have (metaphorically) kicked a bear. The bear has big teeth and claws. The second half of last week seemed very long and parts of it were highly stressful. I took one day off as a mental health day.
Rich and I took a nice 3 mile walk on our favorite trail. That helped clear my mind. Unfortunately, it also raised a blister on the ball of each foot. spent the next two days limping. 😦
My doctor will be pleased; I'm exercising more. I've set an alarm on my computer to remind me once an hour to go walk on our stepper machine.
Rich and I took a peek into the new Shops At Tanforan. We decided that a week was probably long enough (and it was a quarter till closing). I needed to go to Target anyway, so we walked through Target and into the main Mall area for 15 minutes.
It's … different. Lots of white (walls, floor, ceiling) with blue neon accents. Oddly claustropobic – the corridors are narrow, the ceiling seem too low. Even though they tore the mall area down to the ground and rebuilt it, the layout is very much what it used to be. Just… tighter somehow. Like being in a snow cave.
The Barnes & Noble is very pretty (what we saw of it in 5 minutes). Unfortunately, it closes at 9:00pm (when the main mall closes). The one in Colma stays open till 10:00; the one in San Mateo is open until 11:00.
This week I read Murder Unleashed and To Collar a Killer, both by Lee Charles Kelley. These are the 2nd and 3rd books in the Jack Field (dog trainer) series. I think the third book is the best yet. They're well written and move fast. Try these.
In between and around the rest, I've had almost enough naps and plenty of snuggles with the cats. There have been good meals and interesting conversations with Spouse and friends. I've had email with my Mom. (I keep forgetting to log into AIM 😦
Onward and Upward.
