The weather was clear and warm last week. Quite "unseasonable" but delightful. We went for a walk along our favorite trail and saw a few deer.
On Tuesday, I had a call from a former co-worker (now an ex-former co-worker!). Apparently I was part of the shot across the bow. Thirty more people have been "let go" at The Company I Used to Work For amidst great speculation as to WHY. We now have a mailing list to discuss the topic.
I got caught by a cold this week. This was fairly mild as such things go but it made the latter part of the week pretty blurry.
This week I read Dying for Chocolate and The Cereal Murders, two "catering" mysteries in the series by Diane Mott Davidson. I also read My Heart Stood Still, a ghostly romance by Lynn Kurland;
The Reporter, a murder mystery by Kelly Lange, and We'll Always Have Parrots, latest in a series of cozy mysteries by Donna Andrews.
I've discovered a new series of mysteries that I particularly like. The author is Sarah Graves. The first title is The Dead Cat Bounce (it's a stock market term). These are very well written and I find the writing style to be unique and… different…. but I like it a lot. I picked up the rest of the set (there are 8 so far in paperback).
In between and around the rest, I've had almost enough naps and plenty of snuggles with the cats. There have been good meals and interesting conversations with Spouse and friends. I applied for a few jobs, heard from two recruiters…
Onward and Upward.
