Treasures 2006_19

The happiness that is genuinely satisfying
is accompanied by the fullest exercise of our faculties
and the fullest realization
of the world in which we live.

— Bertrand Russell

Treasures are positive things that strike my fancy, that make me feel happy or thankful or interested. Treasures are memories encapsulated in just a few words.
These are my Treasures for the past week.

  • Playing "monster in a cave" with Raven.

  • Squirrel slept on my lap – twice! At one point I had Squirrel and Bebop both melted on my lap as I sat on the couch.

  • Ciinnabon (a new one just opened in the Mall. We shared a cinnamon bun. Yum.)

  • Dark purple flowers alongside the freeway on-ramp

  • Finding a parking space just 2 doors down from where we were going for a meeting. It was a home ball game night and the meeting was three blocks from the ball park. Finding ANY parking space was a lot of luck!)

  • The cloud murals on the sides of a 5-storey self-storage facility in San Francisco

  • The Bufano sculpture of a
Mama bear and her two cubs, in front of a building at UCSF.

  • An new and interesting (Spanish) word, found on a Heineken "Premium Light" billboard in San Francisco: sorprendentemente (in English: surprisingly)
    … refrescante y sorprendentemente suave …

  • Squirrel pawing the window; woodrat at the feeder. biiig mousie!

  • Giving belly thumps to a friendly black lab we know
