For those who are willing to make an effort,
great miracles and wonderful treasures are in store.
— Isaac Bashevis Singer
Treasures are positive things that strike my fancy, that make me feel happy or thankful or interested. Treasures are memories encapsulated in just a few words.
These are my Treasures for the past week.
- Der Feedermaus (nose twitching)
- Our reconditioned flying gargoyle; Rich did a terrific repair job!
- Dim Sum
- Two perfect "canonical" spider webs, on the front porch Jade plant, sparkling with fog droplets.
- Four jacaranda trees in bloom in a haze of purple.
- A long row of cows going… where were they going? Home to the barn, I guess. Certainly somewhere, on their own. One by one in neat single file.
- A grey squirrel at the feeder, nibbling kernels of corn
- Discovering that there are more shuttles than I knew about to and from my new job (so I have more flexibility.)
- A delightfully fun book, first in a new series. I can hardly wait for the sequel.
- Eggs Florentine, NY steak, and country potatoes, plus a bowl of fresh fruit. Shared. Sometimes, you have to splurge.
