Treasures 2006_30

To be a soulful person means to go against all the pervasive,
prove-yourself values of our culture and instead
treasure what is unique and internal and valuable
in yourself and your own personal evolution.

— Jean Shinoda Bolen

Treasures are positive things that strike my fancy, that make me feel happy or thankful or interested. Treasures are memories encapsulated in just a few words.
These are my Treasures for the past week.

  • A musical tattoo – a young man at the BART station with a staff of musical notes tattooed on his upper arm.

  • Two ducks flying over as the shuttle drove away from the Workplace.

    Elmo Chicken

  • In the window of the Goodwill store – An Elmo doll in a chicken suit doll. Too cute. It, erm, dances and sings.

  • "Lemon lilies" – the hot weather has made all of the Daylilies around the Yahoo! campus bloom in a riot of yellows and orange.

  • A Daddy Longlegs spider making his way rapidly and deliberately across the pavement as I walked in to work.

  • Participating as best I could in a three-way ASL conversation. (One of the conductors on the Thursday CalTrain knows ASL. I was in the middle, trying to watch both sides.)
