To find the universal elements enough;
to find the air and the water exhilarating;
to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter;
to be thrilled by the stars at night;
to be elated over a bird's nest or a wildflower in spring –
these are some of the rewards of the simple life.
— John Burroughs
Treasures are positive things that strike my fancy, that make me feel happy or thankful or interested. Treasures are memories encapsulated in just a few words.
These are my Treasures for the past week.
- Pumpkin patch – an "aerial" view of a pumpkin sales lot, as seen from the passing train. All those bright orange pumpkins, gleaming roundly.
- The smell of freshly mown, wet grass
- barbequed tri-tip
- A nice long nap with the kitties
- The full moon, rising jack-o-lantern bright from behind the hills, illuminating strips of cloud above.
- The "make your own garlic bread" at the new pizza place
- My cookie fortune:
"Sing badly, if you must, but sing"
and the way it matched up with Rich's
"An interesting musical opportunity is in your near future"
