Treasures 2004_38

"Life … is haphazard and full of beauties which I try to catch as
they fly by, for who knows whether any of them will ever return?"

— Margot Fonteyn

Treasures are positive things that strike my fancy, that make me feel happy or thankful or interested. Treasures are memories encapsulated in just a few words,

I hope you'll consider starting your own list of Treasures. These are my Treasures for the past week.

  • One happy big woofly dog – the people who own our favorite local diner have a big labrador retriever, Jilly (who will be two years old this Monday). Saturday morning, as we left for breakfast, Rich found a brand new (in package) hairbrush in the street in front of the house. When we got to the restaurant the dog was there (sitting out back) and Rich suggested giving the brush to the dog. Oooh. He liked it. He liked the package even better. "I can pick this up and shake it and put it down and pick it up again!"
  • Seattle Chocolates Pike Place Espresso Truffle bars – yummmmmmmmmmm
  • Having breakfast with a friend who has been fighting some virus for two weeks now and is finally up and around and feeling good enough to come out and eat.
  • Dinner with friends; sharing a "Bloomin' onion" as an appetizer (and a very sincere piece of chocolate cake for desert), showing off our cute car, and generally having a good time.
  • Working from home on Tuesday – the most relaxed and productive day I've had.
  • My marshmallow fluffy (aka Squirrel), drowzing fuzzily beside me as I type.
  • Naked Juice ( http://www.nakedjuice.com/index.php )- a small boy and his mother in the fresh juice sectiion of the grocery store. The boy saw a bottle of "Naked Juice" and asked Mom (in tones of awe) "What's _Naked"?!"
  • Raccoons! Another raccoon patted Rich's hand as we sat in the hot tub. When we came back inside, there were raccoons on the sunroom roof so I went upstairs and fed a raccoon marshmallows, peanuts, banana chips, and apple from the back porch. Rich came out and said "You're going to give him a tummyache!". After we went to bed, Raven stayed out on the screenporch, avidly watching (and occasionally growling at) the big furry Not-Cat things in his territory!
  • I passed a car with a large blue exercise ball in the front seat – if the ball had been any larger it would not have fit!
  • 2000 miles on our Scion XB
  • A giant pink cat tummy stretched across my desk; later, that same tummy next to me on the couch. Rub the tummy!
