The weather has varied from fog to clear and back but never too hot. August is very pleasant here.
We got the newest Jasper Fforde book (The Big Over Easy) this week. Unfortunately, the book was incomplete. A signature is missing; it goes from p. 52 to p. 83. Oh dear. I contacted the store. and they'll send another. Meanwhile, we can't read it.
I think I've finally convinced Rich to try Circus Ponies NoteBook, one of my "must have" applications. If you use Mac OS X and you haven't tried NoteBook… what are you waiting for?
My new mini digital camera arrived from Think Geek this week. It's the size of a Zippo cigarette lighter, uses one AAA battery, can take up to 150 640×480 "hi res" pictures, and connects to my Mac via USB.
Rich had the stitches removed from his finger on Saturday. He said this was much less difficult than when they went in, but he also said his arm started to ache again (at the site of the tetanus shot) while he was waiting at the clinic for the doctor.
This week I read Rattle His Bones, (Daisy Dalrymple #8, by Carola Dunn),
The Belligerent Miss Boynton, (a "standard" Regency Romance by Kasey Michaels), and two books in Diane Duane's Young Wizards" series: A Wizard Alone and Wizard's Holiday. Yes, my reading is eclectic 🙂
In between and around the rest, I've had almost enough naps and plenty of snuggles with the cats. There have been good meals including several bowls of homemade turkey soup and some wonderful turkey sandwiches as well as interesting conversations with Spouse and friends. I've had a few chats with my Dad; my Mom is still recovering from her summer activities.
