Memory is the treasure house of the mind wherein the monuments thereof are kept and preserved.
— Thomas Fuller
Treasures are positive things that strike my fancy, that make me feel happy or thankful or interested. Treasures are memories encapsulated in just a few words.
These are my Treasures for the past week.
- Pink blossoms on an ornamental plum tree. Spring is coming early!
- A blue sunny shiny gorgeous early almost-spring day
- Turkey sandwiches on fresh sourdough bread with mayo and cranberry sauce
- The smell of cooking turkey floating through the house
- My new calendar holder-upper (and, of course, my brilliantly inventive sweetie)
- Reaching 100 steps on the stepper almost every time now.
- The stone cats (pumas?) guarding the entrance to Golden Gate park (at 8th and Fulton)
- Crisply toasted sourdough bread crusts (the "heel" of the loaf) with peanut butter
- Itty bitty brownbirds in the hedge by our fence, hopping, fluttering, making shadows on the ground
- Soft mrrmrring kitty sounds from the basket over my monitors (Squirrel is sleeping there in a swirl of fluff)
- Successful software installations! (now we can play)
- Rich suggesting the hot tub on a chilly evening
