Bloedel Reserve

Yesterday's excursion was to Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island.

Bloedel Reserve is an internationally renowned public garden and forest preserve. Stroll groomed trails through nearly 150 acres of sculpted landscapes, woods, meadows, and wildlife habitats. It's lovely and, at this time of year, blooming exuberantly. There are plants & flowers I've not seen before. There was one Rhododendron on which each blossom (not the cluster, but each blossom) was 4" in diameter!

There were small streams, ponds, pools, and waterfalls (but no fish). BIrds (including a flock of what we think were swifts, spinning and diving and flying over a meadow.
There were happily buzzing bees (including at least two Mason Bee "condominuims"). There were three deer "pruning" some of the low-lying flora.

There's a moss garden!

And, everywhere, flowers.

(I took so many pictures, my phone's battery ran out. )
