When You Bought a House on a Septic System

The ever-so-very competent septic company tech is here, "ringing out" the drain field lines. Something we asked for because we want to know where they are! Which turns out to be a good thing because:
  • the Distribution box is not where we thought it was (also, thank goodness, not directly under the rose bush, but I'm still going to move the rose bush).
  • the concrete lid of the Distribution box is busted (TIL methane eats concrete) and needs to be replaced
  • it would be a Very Good Idea™ to replace the whole box
  • the line camera shows soil and possibly roots in some of the lines
  • one pipe is crushed near the end.
  • we should move two other plants before they get too big to move.
  • the diagram of where the drain field distribution pipes are is more poorly drawn than we had imagined
  • he can't locate one of the lines
