The conscious waking mind and the unconscious sleeping mind communicate with each other (presumably) but they are not the same.

 

I fell asleep thinking about the best way to do a project. I woke up later, from a dream that had nothing to do with the project (and don't tell me I wasn't "interpreting" the dream correctly. Trust me here. There was no relationship.)

 

But I woke up _in the middle of continuing the project thoughts. As if I never left off. As if there was no break. That thread simply came back online.

 

Weird.
