Rich and Vicki’s Great Adventure, part 2

So, I'm sitting here in an AirBnB apartment in Seattle, WA… (previous post)

When we left Rich and Vicki on Monday evening, Sept 21, they were staring at email from a local (San Bruno) realtor: "You wouldn’t even have to do any work, just move!".

On Sept 23, our San Bruno realtor brought a couple to look at the house.

On Sept 24, they made an offer for our preferred asking price.

On Friday, Sept 25, we e-signed the offer.

Yes, it went that quickly. The house never went "on the market".

Over the next few weeks, we culled books, took bags of books to the Friends of the SF Public library, held more garage "unsales", offered things on Nextdoor, threw things away, donated food we won't transport to a friend, took things to the Salvation Army donation center… and then did all of that again.

We contacted Susan, a realtor in the Seattle area and a friend of our San Bruno realtor.

Rich packed up 16 large boxes (~150 pounds each) of technical books to send to a man who is storing such in a converted missile silo in Inverness, Scotland. (SRSLY)

On Sept 30, we ordered PODs to be delivered.
