This past Sunday, Rich saw a utility trailer on craigslist. He's been after getting a trailer to haul the motorcycle on occasion (e.g. if he wanted to take it somewhere to ride that required freeways in between here and there). So, we went up to Poulsbo and bought a trailer.
Of course, everything takes longer (even if it doesn't cost more). Rich had a trailer hitch but not the ball; the trailer owner did not have a spare ball. So, we drove the 10 minutes over to Walmart and bought a 2" trailer ball.
Back for the trailer. Hooked it up and… the ingepluggen for the trailer did not match the outgepluggen from the car electric. So, we drove slowly back to Walmart with blinkers on. Rich went in and bought an electrical hookup frammitz and a pair of wire cutters and a splicing kit.
Then out to the parking lot for 20+ minutes to discover… he got the wrong frammitz. He got the car side (Wrong "sex" connector). So, back into Walmart for the third time. They had the other connector.
Back out to the parking lot. Now it was starting to rain.
Eventually, at 9pm, things were connected enough for the trailer to have lights and we drove home. There's still something off with the wiring (the left turn signal on the car causes both lights to blink on the trailer), but it had lights.
