Rich and Vicki Do Things With Vehicles (part 2)

On Monday, Rich (who had been up for a while already, reading craigslist) woke me at daybreak ("Are you awake? I want to buy a boat (Because lakes, inlets, etc.) but I thought I would check with you first").

I said "Sure, OK, what kind and what does it cost?"

It's a used "Jon Boat" (an aluminum skiff with a small electric motor. It's a puttputt boat.

It was in Auburn. Auburn is 14 miles north east of Tacoma[3].

But wait! We were going over to Renton (26 miles northeast of Tacoma) to pick up more shelving units at IKEA. (I will not go into how difficult / time-consuming it was to purchase these shelf units online, other than it to say that, on Sunday night, I said "Ha! I can buy the shelves! Tomorrow, rain or shine, we must go to IKEA.")

So, we were already driving to Renton. Plus, we have a utility trailer. And we have two places in Tacoma where we can get lunch. We can easily add a stop to buy a boat.

We like to amortize these trips.

So… Rich worked on the lights on the trailer some more. Then we drove over to Tacoma), got lunch from Uncle Thurms Finger Licken Ribs & Chicken (mmmmmmmm), drove up to IKEA,

loaded 23 19" shelves and 12 posts into our Toyota Camry, drove back south to Auburn, met up with the people with the boat, transferred the boat from their trailer to ours, and drove back home.

So, now we have a trailer and a boat.
