We contact a service company via their website form or their posted email address.

We say: We want to do A, B, and C. We have X and Y. Do you do these things and do you service our county?

 

We receive a reply: please call us.

We call. They ask "What do you need?"

We reply by, essentially, repeating the note we already sent.

Then they either say "We don't do those things" or "We don't service your county" or both.

 

(The worst was where Rich had a 10-minute conversation on the phone with one company, being very specific. They sent out their guy, who politely said "Oh, we don't do that. But we always come out to see if there's a lead." Yeah… no.)
